Actor Peter Greene Found Dead in His Manhattan Apartment

Actor Peter Greene, best known for his roles in “The Mask” and “Pulp Fiction,” was found dead in his apartment in Manhattan, New York, on Friday afternoon, according to confirmation from his manager.

Greene, who became widely recognized for portraying villainous characters throughout the 1990s, was 60 years old.

Police stated that no foul play is suspected, adding that the official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.

According to the New York Daily News, a neighbor said Greene was found lying face down on the floor with injuries to his face and blood present at the scene.

The report also noted that a handwritten note was discovered inside the apartment reading, “I’m still Westie,” believed to reference the Irish-American gang historically associated with the Hell’s Kitchen area.

Greene’s manager, Greg, said he was informed that music had been playing inside the apartment for more than 24 hours, prompting a welfare check. He added that he had spoken with Greene earlier in the week.

The actor, who also appeared in “The Usual Suspects,” was scheduled to begin production in January on an independent thriller titled “Mascots,” co-starring Mickey Rourke.

Greg said that when the film’s writer and director, Kerry Mondragon, was informed of Greene’s death, he broke down in tears, describing the cast and crew as deeply shaken by the loss.
