Jackson’s estate attorneys said:

“For years, Cascio publicly praised Michael and fiercely defended him, on shows like Oprah and Primetime Live. Now he’s completely changed his stance to exploit Jackson’s legacy.”

The lawsuit adds:

“These claims are a deliberate attempt to fabricate accusations that completely contradict Cascio’s previous statements. Notably, the law doesn’t protect the reputation of deceased individuals from defamation.”

The estate is now asking the court to enforce the arbitration agreement signed in 2020 and handle the dispute privately.

Michael Jackson passed away in 2009, but allegations have continued to cloud his legacy despite his full acquittal in the 2005 trial. The family previously sued HBO over Leaving Neverland, reaching a confidential settlement, and the film has since been removed from streaming platforms.

Despite the controversy, Jackson’s estate remains highly profitable, earning over $3 billion since his death — making him one of the highest-earning deceased celebrities in history. The estate’s legal team believes this financial success is a key motive behind continued exploitation attempts.
